Disconnects, forfeits, timeouts, and bans
Disconnect and voluntary forfeit
If you disconnect during an active match, you immediately forfeit. Your opponent wins, the normal MMR change applies, and you receive a matchmaking timeout. A voluntary forfeit has the same timeout. You cannot voluntarily forfeit while a song is starting, being played, or waiting for its scores; finish the active song or contact staff.
The timeout doubles for every earlier disconnect or forfeit penalty during the previous 14 days:
| Previous penalties in rolling 14 days | New timeout |
|---|---|
| 0 | 15 minutes |
| 1 | 30 minutes |
| 2 | 1 hour |
| 3 | 2 hours |
| 4 | 4 hours |
| 5 | 8 hours |
| 6 | 16 hours |
| 7 | 32 hours |
The pattern continues doubling after 32 hours. If staff remove an active timeout, the incident still counts when calculating another disconnect penalty during the 14-day period.
Moderator timeouts
Staff may issue a temporary timeout with a reason and a clear end time. It ends automatically at the shown time, or staff may remove it early.
Permanent bans
A permanent ban removes the player from matchmaking and includes a reason. Staff may later remove it. A ban takes priority when an account also has a timeout.
Restrictions prevent queue entry and invalid restricted candidates are removed when a match is about to form. They do not delete accounts, ratings, or completed match records.
